As part of the EU’s “Communication and Visibility of the EU 2018” project, PARC Communications team, for the 7th time, organized a series of events dedicated to Europe Day. The traditional European Village opened its doors in the “Stefan cel Mare” Public Garden, highlighting the assistance provided by the European projects, about 40 present at a fair. Also, about 22 embassies have exhibited their culture and gastronomy, providing visitors with information. More than 10,000 visitors celebrated Europe Day in the park, having the opportunity to spend time active and interesting, and in the evening to support the Moldovan representatives at Eurovision Song Contest 2018, broadcasted live from Portugal.
The European Village 2018 continued with the inauguration of the European Film and Culture Festival, which started in the Public Garden and subsequently reached several districts of the country: Drochia, Hancesti, Balti, Cahul, Comrat, Soroca. More than 20 European films, awarded at the most important industry competitions, were presented, outdoors, for the locals of these regions.
Also, this year we returned to the tradition of organizing European Village in the second location, a major city in the country, which this time was Ungheni. In a smaller format, but with a big impact, the European Village of Ungheni had guests from Brussels, as well as about 8,000 ungens who got informed about the EU’s support from over 25 projects and 15 embassies present, while watching several films from the European Film and Culture Festival.
A premiere for this year was a miniature format of the European Village in Tiraspol, where about 10 embassies and over 15 projects presented information about EU assistance and support, later students from Taras Sevcenko University. After that, they had the opportunity to watch some of the films from the European Film and Culture Festival.
PARC Communications team provided the full support in organizing this event, from concept development to the implementation of the most insignificant details. Moreover, the Agency has carried out a broad communication campaign in parallel by developing the first EU Mapping Assistance in Moldova. The interface, which, being on the stage of work, was presented in these events.
Traditionally, the European Village ended with the EU and the Eastern Partnership Football Tournament, which crowned this series of events with matches of cooperation and friendship.
